Odiongan, Romblon
n., An Asi (one of Romblon’s native languages, along with Onhan and Ini) word which means “doing any means to live or sustain life”; also, tenacity; persistence.
During this pandemic, we Romblomanon are lucky enough to reside near the mountains and the sea, where abundant resources can be gathered. However, authorities say that only adults are allowed to go outside and anyone below the age of 21 are to stay at home.
Despite the risks however, this 14-year-old adolescent (left) was motivated and determined to take part on the pagpanayap (a local way of catching fish using ropes and nets called sayap), to ensure that his family will have fish for their paning-hapon or dinner.
