The National Book Development Board joined SM Supermalls and SM Foundation in the kick-off celebration of the 2010 National Children’s BookDay at the SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City last July 20, 2010. The event was also simultaneously celebrated in 35 SM Supermalls nationwide.
The story reading sessions of the NBDB’s Get Caught Reading celebrity advocates TV host Lyn Ching and singer/actor Lance Raymundo highlighted the program, which also included an appearance of NBDB’s mascot Buknoy and the turnover of book donations to various schools and libraries.

Lyn Ching-Pascual gave an engaging storytelling with the help of daughter Gaby and delighted the audience with the story “Yummy Fly Pie” by Jomike Tejido (Vibal Publishing), while singer and actor Lance Raymundo enthusiastically read “Ang Mahiwagang Kamiseta” by Eugene Evasco (Vibal Publishing).

The event was attended by DepEd Undersecretary Vilma Labrador; SM Health and Medical Program director Connie Angeles; SM Foundation executive director Debbie Sy; and NBDB executive director Atty. Andrea Flores. The audience also included more than 200 children from the Department of Social and Welfare Department children’s care and various schools in the metropolis.
