Individual: Author/Writer, Designer, Editor, Educational Technologist, Illustrator, Instructional Designer, Layout Artist, Librarian, Literary Agent, Literature Educator, Publishing Specialist, Subject Matter Expert, Translator

Book Publisher (Print and/or Digital). An entity that is in the business of and/or supervises the process of choosing or making books and ensures that these are made available to all or specific publics. Book Exporter. An enterprise that exports more than 10 books on a regular basis whether commercial or non-commercial. Commercial Non-Commercial Book Importer. A person, entity, group, or association engaged in the importation of books, whether habitual or isolated transaction, intended for commercial (trade or business, in order to make a profit) or non-commercial (for gratuitous) purposes. Commercial Non-Commercial Book Seller. A person, entity, group or association engaged in the business of selling and distributing books, whether retail and/or wholesale commercial trading. They do not publish or produce these books and other reading materials that they sell or distribute. A proprietor of a bookstore. Retail Reseller Wholesale Book Printer. An enterprise that physically reproduces text and images from its digital form; including bookbinding and delivery of copies. Book Industry Association. Organizations made up of companies and professionals involved in book publishing or its adjacent industries, usually established to protect their rights and advance their interests. Manufacturer of Raw Materials used in Book Publishing. Producer of one or different coated and uncoated paper stocks that differ in weight and size; producer of inks in different colors; or producer of front and back book covers made from a heavier stock of paper, cardboard, or synthetic material varying in weight; or producer of quick-melt or other kinds of adhesive substances, string and staple wire that are used to bind books.

Author/Writer. A person, entity, group, or association who is the original creator and copyright owner of a written work or manuscript. It also refers to authors who published their own work from their own resources. Designer (Graphic Designer/ Book Designer/ Layout Artist). A person, entity, group or association who conceptualizes a design for a book and visualizes the finished product from cover to cover. They create a visual design by determining the color, size, and type of layout or illustrations. They are knowledgeable in design and layout principles and deliver the information through visual communication. Editor. A person, entity, group, or association who is in charge of and determines the final content of a text, particularly a book, journal, newspaper, or magazine. Someone who checks the manuscript for completeness, accuracy, organization, coherence, clarity of thought, grammar, and syntax, spelling, punctuation, and consistency of style. Development Editor. With a background in literature, criticism, and communication, a Development Editor or book editor is capable of assessing texts for narrative, and socio-cultural issues. Sensitivity Reader for Socio-Cultural Issues. Focused specifically on issues of Inclusivity. The sensitivity reader makes recommendations to the types of materials procured, and is able to flag erroneous, outdated, or flat-out offensive depictions of minority groups, women, LGBT, people living with disabilities, ethnolinguistic groups, indigenous cultural communities (ICC), among others. Sensitivity Reader for SOGIE. The sensitivity reader for SOGIE is gender rights and equality advocate and discipline expert, who is able to identify Page 4 of problematic, and offensive handling or inaccurate representations concerning SOGIE. Educational Technologist. Person or persons responsible for facilitating learning and improving performance by creating, using, and managing appropriate technological processes and resources. Illustrator. A person, entity, group or association that interprets the story of the book by creating illustrations or drawings by using a pencil, paint, and other illustration methods – traditional art or a modern approach by means of offline and online electronic software and applications. Instructional Designer. Person or persons responsible for researching, designing, and developing the instructional product such as but not limited to textbooks. Librarian. A licensed librarian will be able to gauge the richness of books per category, format, and theme, and provide guidance regarding what kind of books should be present at which level, and which specific categories are overly represented or least represented. Literary Agent. A licensed librarian will be able to gauge the richness of books per category, format, and theme, and provide guidance regarding what kind of books should be present at which level, and which specific categories are overly represented or least represented. Literature Educator. Specializes in teaching literature to Filipino students, at every grade level; able to provide clear guidance regarding reading strategies and the appropriateness of book titles within appropriate grade levels. Publishing Specialist. Understands the book production process from layout, pre-production, and printing. Has generalized knowledge about content requirements, layout, and print book production, and the challenges inherent therein. Subject Matter Expert. Person who is an authority in a particular area or topic over a long period of time. Translator. A person, entity, group, or association who renders or expresses the contents of a book from one language into another.

Company Profile. A one-page introduction of the business/company. It may indicate a brief history of when and how the business started, its mission/vision, the products/services offered, and how & why it continues serving customers.
DTI Certificate of Registration. Must be valid as of the year of application.
SEC Certificate of Registration
Articles of Incorporation. Must be incomplete set/pages; merge the pages/files in one document if needed.
BIR Certificate of Registration (Form 2303)
Business Permit. Must be valid as of the year of application.

Income Tax Return. Must be as of the previous year or the latest copy received by the BIR.

Note: For requirements that cannot be provided yet, please submit a certification letter and indicate reason/s for not being able to comply (e.g., certification of no books published in 2021). For institutions that cannot provide a business permit (e.g., LGU exempts your institution to apply for a business permit), provide a resolution/statement from the LGU regarding this exemption.

Two (2) valid government-issued identification documents. The identification documents must be valid, with a photo and signature. It must also be readable, untampered, and contain consistent information with the documents presented upon application.

If your work is published online, submit a screenshot of the account with the works posted. For unpublished titles, submit the manuscript or working draft of ongoing work. Submit a duly signed certificate/any legal document from the publishing house/company acknowledging that you have rendered your service to them under the categories you are registering.
