The National Book Development Board invites you to join the Philippine delegation at the 2018 Frankfurt Book Fair, the world’s largest trade fair for books and the center of global publishing. From October 10 to 14, the NBDB will host a country stand at the fair to promote the best of Philippine book publishing.

In 2017, the fair drew 286,485 visitors and 7,300 exhibitors from 102 countries. Don’t miss out on your chance to be part of this event.

To participate, you may choose from the following options:

A. Exhibit at the Philippine Stand

Registered publishers may avail of a shelf at the Philippine Stand where they can display their books and hold meetings with industry professionals from foreign markets.

B. Be a Speaker at Philippine events

NBDB will mount events featuring experts who can best showcase the country’s publishing industry to the international market. Registered authors, illustrators, and independent publishers may apply for travel grants to partially subsidize their expenses.

C. Apply for the NBDB Translation Subsidy Program

As part of rights trading, registered publishers may apply for translation of their books from Philippine languages to English and/or Philippine languages or English to a foreign language. These translations will make existing works accessible to the global market.
