MINIMUM QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:

Education: Bachelor’s degree relevant to the job

Training: 16 hours of relevant training

Experience: 3 years of relevant experience

Eligibility: Career Service Professional/Second Level Eligibility

Functions:

> Plans and supervises the implementation of programs that will provide a conducive environment for the publishing industry to thrive. This includes business development, trade planning, business matching, and expanding incentives. It also includes registration of persons and enterprises engaged in book publishing and on incentives for book development and other aspects of the publishing industry;

> Supervises the processing of an application for importation with due consideration to existing production capabilities, the market potential of every applicant, and the availability of supply of locally produced books and raw materials;

> Supervise the issuance of duly approved certificates of registration and accreditation of qualified registrants; assists the division chief in devising appropriate mechanisms for providing fiscal and non-fiscal incentives to the industry persons and establishments as well as in the assessment of certificates of any person or enterprise found guilty of violating any of the provisions of RA 8047 or the Code of Ethics in the publishing; perform other tasks as may be assigned from time to time.
