AKLAT PARA SA LAHAT! NBDB will launch Book Nook, the very first all-Pinoy reading and storytelling space!
The National Book Development Board (NBDB) is proud to announce the official launch of the Book Nook in 52 indigenous and remote sites in the Philippines at 9:00 a.m. on November 24, 2021.
From Ifugao to Tawi-Tawi, kids and kids-at-heart can borrow and read books that are proudly Pinoy!
With about 1,500 titles from Filipino writers, publishers, and creatives, the very first all-Pinoy reading and storytelling space in the Philippines is strategically placed in the most accessible areas of your municipality, such as schools, culture and tourist offices, mobile buses, museums, heritage sites, and even in the palengke.
Filipino books are outnumbered by foreign books, 24 to 1.
The Book Nook will enable children to read stories that reflect their own experiences, encourage inclusivity and creativity, and serve as a resource center for children, parents, and teachers to read—and eventually write—about their own stories.
